A Crestmead man, 29, found asleep at the wheel has been charged after police allegedly discovered shotgun rounds and drugs in his car.
Officers from Logan Village Yarrabilba Police Station responded to reports of a man asleep at the wheel of a vehicle in Yarrabilba, at around 5.37am on Tuesday (5 March).
Upon arrival, police awoke the man and spoke with him “in an attempt to gain information in regards to his situation”.
“Police detained the man for a search of himself and his vehicle,” a police statement read.
Police allegedly found a “large amount” of cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and steroids in the car.
They also found a stolen registration plate, and shotgun and rifle rounds.
The Crestmead man was arrested and taken to Jimboomba Police Station.
He was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs (exceeding schedule 3), three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of possessing a S4 or S8 Medicine, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, possessing utensils, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, two counts of authority required to possess explosives and one count of possession of a knife in a public place.
The Crestmead man is scheduled to appear before the Beaudesert Magistrates Court on Tuesday 9 April.
