Eco-kids dive into sustainability

Local kids have access to a range of sustainable and environmentally friendly activities at Logan libraries this school holidays.

Children 11-years and older can build power banks in a basic electronics workshop with local social enterprise PowerWells – which creates affordable energy from repurposed batteries to assist remote communities in developing countries.

Primary school children can participate in workshops led by worm farmer, educator and author Brian Donaldson – also known as The Worm Man, – who will teach how to create a mini worm farm to take home complete with
live worms.

Other free activities include:

  • Choose your own adventure or interactive story writing sessions
  • Djembe drumming workshops
  • Robotics and coding sessions
  • Monster cartooning workshops
  • What’s the Buzz about Bees sessions
  • Holiday crafts
