Volunteers play a critical role in our community, working tirelessly for the benefit of others.
Each year, around six million Australians volunteer with their community, so I am pleased that the Volunteer Grants Program is back this year.
Funding from the Volunteer Grants can be used towards the cost of essential items that help make the work of volunteers easier, safer, and more enjoyable.
In previous years, applicants have used grant funding to purchase eligible small equipment for their organisation, cover transport costs for their volunteers, pay for volunteer training, and support overall promotional activities for their group.
These grants for volunteer organisations are between $1,000 and $5,000. I would like to encourage volunteer organisations to consider applying in the current round of the Volunteer Grants Program, which is open for applications.
