Logan police are searching for local residents to join their volunteer program.
The Logan District Crime Prevention Unit’s Volunteers in Policing (ViP) program gives a variety of roles and responsibilities to volunteers so they can assist police “with customer service, community safety and crime prevention needs in the community”.
Some of the tasks volunteers will undertake include:
- Providing support to and assisting victims of crime;
- Liaising with community groups and participating in community-based activities;
- Conducting home security assessments;
- Participating in crime prevention initiatives; and
- Assisting with crime prevention projects.
Volunteers must be: 18 years and older, willing to undertake mandatory training and commit to at least 12 months, among other criteria.
