Logan man charged following string of break-ins

A Kingston man has been charged following eight alleged break and enters across businesses in South Brisbane.

The string of alleged break-ins began early Wednesday (7 June) morning, with a group of unknown people stealing cash, cigarettes and other property from businesses in South Brisbane.

Last Thursday (22 June), a 19-year-old Kingston man was charged with several offences relating to the alleged break-ins after he was spotted driving an allegedly stolen vehicle in Loganholme.

Police will allege they observed the man driving a stolen Ford Ranger dangerously along the Pacific Motorway at Beenleigh just after 9.30am.

It is believed the utility was stolen from a home on Tarcoola Street at Rochdale South on Wednesday (21 June).

Polair tracked the ute as it drove north towards Loganholme, before it came to a stop at a shopping centre on Bryants Road.

Police will allege the driver fled the Ford on foot but was arrested nearby by detectives from the Centenary Crime Team shortly after 12pm.

The 19-year-old’s charges include five counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, two counts each of enter premises with intent, enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of motor vehicle, driving of motor vehicle without a driver’s licence, and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing by day instruments of house breaking, possessing tainted property, possession of a knife in a public place, obstruct police, evasion offence, offence to buy a possess s4 or s8 medicines and attempted enter premises with intent.

He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 21.
