Compassion meets cosmopolitan

The Logan Hospital Palliative Care Unit has been comparing gowns ahead of the second annual gala ball.
With more than $15,000 worth of prizes to be won on the night, nurse Gillian Myles said she hoped to see a full house at the June 10 event.
“Last year’s event was incredible, and this year is set to be even better,” Ms Myles said.
She said she was most excited about Motown band Sex and Chocolate who would perform on the night.
“The first ball generated a lot of local interest in Logan Hospital Palliative care and gave us a fundraising platform for some much-needed equipment such as a blanket warmer and recliner chairs – both of which make patients and their families more comfortable during their stay,” she said.
“And of course it’s the perfect opportunity to get glammed up and socialise outside of work.”
Tickets for the ball are $125 per person and include a three-course sit down meal and entertainment.
It’s at Diggers Services Club. Information at friendsofpalliativecarelogan@gmail.com.
