The Logan Dementia Choir is seeking more members.
The choir is for those in the community with dementia diagnoses, as well as their spouses, family members or friends.
Group member Norma Hambling said the choir was a great way for people impacted by dementia to get together.
“We offer support, companionship and information,” Ms Hambling said.
“One of the big issues with dementia is people often feel isolated and socially excluded; there is still social stigma associated with a dementia diagnosis.
“The Logan Dementia Choir will address all of these [issues].”
Ms Hambling said singing is shown to have amazing benefits for those with dementia, and their loved ones.
The choir was created through the Logan Dementia Alliance, an organisation with an aim to raise awareness and education about Dementia.
Rehearsals are every Wednesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm at the Bethania Community Centre.
