Pubs for Project Pink

Two Logan pubs will be spending the next month raising funds to support victims of breast cancer.

Jimboomba Tavern and Pub Lane Tavern in Greenbank will be holding fundraising events in May for PA Research Foundation’s breast cancer campaign Project Pink.

Jimboomba Tavern hosted a paint and sip event last Sunday 23 April and will continue to host more in the coming weeks, including regular lucky number boards.

Pub Lane Tavern held a morning tea on Saturday 22 April, and will be holding a Bubbles for Boobs event on 27 May.

Last year, Jimboomba Tavern raised over $2000, and Pub Lane Tavern raised around $10,000.

The pubs are both run by hospitality leader ALH who has raised $3.6 million n the last 13 years of partnership with the PA Research Foundation.

PA Research Foundation CEO Damian Topp said he was grateful for the drive and dedication of local communities to raise money.

“We are proud to partner with ALH Hotels each year to progress crucial breast cancer research which will save lives and improve health outcomes,” Mr Topp said.

“We’re always incredibly grateful for their support and that of every single one of their customers in communities like Jimboomba and Greenbank who choose to give to Project Pink.”

Over $437,000 was raised last year by ALH.

If the same is raised this year, ALH will have raised over $4 million for Project Pink.

“Community led fundraising like this makes all the difference in our ability to fund research like Associate Professor Simpson’s as well as empower programs like the PA Cancer Wellness initiative that supports people with cancer to have improved outcomes before, during and post their treatment journey,” Mr Topp said.

“We really can’t thank each of the Logan venues and the wider Logan community enough for their ongoing support of Project Pink.”
