Five years of renovations end in property sale

AS quaint as the cottage might be at Cedar Grove, there comes a time for most people to downsize.

That was, and is, the decision for Ryan and Jodie Allsop who’ve lived in their house with cathedral high ceilings for five years.

The couple took the time to renovate the five-bedroom house at 159-167 Leopardwood Road.

It was a big job – three bathrooms, three entertaining areas and a children’s activity room in the roof to straighten out before they decided to put the house on the market.

“We bought the property for its potential and unique look,” Mrs Allsop said.

“We have spent the last five years renovating and we hope the new owners enjoy the love and hard work we have put into the home.”

The couple just recently renovated the master suite into a parent’s retreat, featuring an ensuite with a deep bathtub, a spacious shower, walk-in-robe and its own private balcony.

It’s not just the parents that get their own retreat either.

Because of the home’s high cathedral ceilings the couple was also able to build in the children’s getaway with two adjoining rooms in the roof.

“We will miss the features and character of this home, it’s very unique,” Mrs Allsop said.

The home also has a cosy living room with a potbelly fireplace, a large dining area with a cottage style kitchen and three entertaining areas, including a large covered entertaining area outside.

For the motoring fans in the family, the flood-ree five-acre property has enough space for five or more cars and potential for a motocross track or perhaps a pool if someone wanted to build one.

It also has powered horse stables with a wash bay for any equestrian enthusiasts.

Mr and Mrs Allsop said the backyard is perfect for entertaining.

“We hope it brings as much joy as it did for us, whether that be dirt bike riding, horse riding, entertaining on the deck or playing some backyard cricket, it’s a home that you will make lots of memories in,” Mrs Allsop said.

The Leopardwood Road home is just minutes from Jimboomba’s CBD, with private and public schools close by and all the amenities.
