Santa always did like a grand entrance.
At Springwood Mall, he’ll be arriving Wednesday December 14 at 9.30am in the comfort of a flashing police car.
He hasn’t done anything wrong. Rather, local officers from the Springwood Police Station want to make sure he arrives safely.
Giving his reindeer a rest, he will arrive with the ‘team in blue’ and surrounded by dancing friends and choristers from the community.
Crowds on site for Santa’s arrival will enjoy free gifts and giveaways, while Santa Photos will run from 10am to 1pm daily until Christmas Eve.
Other Christmas celebrations include Gift Wrapping from December 14 to 24 at 10am to 2pm daily for a gold coin donation to Rochedale Springwood Lions Club, plus ‘Elf Tales’ on Sunday 18 December where kids hear Christmas tales told by Santa’s favourite elf at 10am, 10.30am, 11am and 11.30am.
Construction work on the newly renovated centre is due for imminent completion.
Marketing manager Donna O’Neill said the Western entry located between the NAB and Ridge Jewellers has just opened, while the centre’s new alfresco dining precinct is constructed.
New restaurants are about to begin their fit outs, ready for opening in February.
“Springwood Mall has undergone a huge transformation during a challenging time for construction and we are very excited to be close to completion and to welcome some wonderful new retailers,” Ms O’Neill said.
She said new store ‘Butcher Cuts & Co’ was now open, located next to Woolworths.
“This Brisbane-based, family-owned butcher has daily specials and is excited to offer their quality products, vast selection and friendly service to the community,” she said.
“They serve premium quality meat including 100% grass-fed beef, free-range organic chicken and more.”
Other additions to Springwood Mall include a medical centre that will open in February next year and new restaurants including Noodle Box.
