One of my most popular events, the Forde Seniors’ Expo, returns this Friday (September 30) at the Canterbury College Events Centre in Waterford.
We have assembled as many as 60 exhibitors, from travel companies to healthcare professionals, residential accommodation providers, financial advisors, and a host of local not-for-profit service providers, community groups and government agencies.
As many as 600 people are expected to attend this free event, and each will receive a free showbag upon entry, full of useful information, discount vouchers, and a fiendishly tricky puzzle.
There will also be entertainment throughout the day, featuring the highly-talented young local vocalist Gracie Keleher, a number of guest speakers, and special VIP appearances.
I will also be hosting a ‘Question and Answer’ session, where I will attempt to resolve any issues that attendees have with federal government services, and to explain our policy positions.
If that is not enough, every attendee will also be treated to a free morning tea of scones, jam, and cream; free coffee or tea; a free sausage sizzle at lunchtime; there will also be free parking available and a free shuttle bus between the car park and the Events Centre.
There will also be a range of lucky door prizes to be won on the day, and anyone who completes our Seniors’ Survey will be eligible to go into the draw to claim one of two $100 gift cards.
Anyone wishing to attend is asked to RSVP to my office on 3807 6340 or email: bert.vanmanen.mp@aph.gov.au, so that we can finalise numbers for catering purposes.
I look forward to seeing a large number of my constituents at this year’s Seniors’ Expo, it promises to be a day full of valuable information and entertainment for everyone who attends.
