LOGAN is looking for people or groups who’ve contributed to safety in the city.
The annual Safe City Awards last year recognised the work being done by Youth and Family Service (YFS) with homeless people in the city, and keeping them safe.
Nominations for this year’s awards will open next Monday, August 15.
The council’s lifestyle head Laurie Laurie Koranski said the awards would look to hear about those who have made a difference in the community.
“We want to acknowledge the individuals and groups who contribute to making Logan’s neighbourhoods welcoming, inclusive and safe,” Cr Koranski said.
She said YFS and CEO Cath Bartolo’s win last year meant this year’s winners would have big shoes to fill.
Ms Bartolo was presented with the Stan Wells Award, which honours former Jimboomba Neighbourhood Watch area co-ordinator, the late Stan Wells.
Cr Koranski said Ms Bartolo’s devotion to the City of Logan over the past 30 years included her outstanding contribution to community safety.
