THE Logan Eco Action Festival is the largest sustainability festival in Queensland, and it’s back to Griffith University’s Logan campus on June 5.
The festival celebrates World Environment Day, and this year is set to host ABC TV’s gardening guru Costa Georgiadis, along with interactive presentations and workshops from leaders in sustainability, gardening and waste reduction.
“LEAF continues to grow under Costa’s watchful eye thanks to a decade of support from the City of Logan’s most environmentally-minded residents,” Cr Raven said.
“Our city has some of the best environmental credentials in Australia because council understands how important our amazing natural environments are to our community.
“This event isn’t just for locals, we want people from all over Southeast Queensland to come and explore LEAF and learn how we are doing it so well in the City of Logan.”
Activities and highlights of LEAF 2022 include:
• An innovative composting workshop ‘Turning Spoil into Soil’.
• A massive kids’ zone featuring free activities, wildlife talks, interactive demonstrations and workshops.
• Live music from local artists on the Beats Stage.
• A dedicated wellness centre offering free pilates classes for those with Parkinsons or MS, as well as an adaptive chair yoga class.
• Food and drink trucks catering to a range of dietary requirements.
The festival will be open from 9am to 3pm. Entry is free.
