Today’s front page is exciting news for the entire city of Logan.
Yet to have a private hospital, the city’s vision for a medical hub at Meadowbrook is paying off.
Many millions of dollars will be poured into a 9-storey building, directly across from the Logan Hospital which is receiving a much-needed and timely spruce up of its own.
A commitment to research from the operators of the new hospital will attract some of the best surgeons, who will be motivated to make Logan their home base.
They’ll be passing knowledge on to others, developing some of the best nurses and other medical staff, and encouraging spin-off services to excel in specialised areas of medicine.
Project managers Australian Unity are hoping to finish phase 1 of this exciting project in 2025 – just three years away before we can claim a bigger, brighter and better-equipped public health facility alongside a state-of-the-art private hospital.
This is no longer an idea which required a spark. It is a reality that will undoubtedly encourage others to follow.
There will be development within the medical sector, but there will also be other businesses that will thrive off the economic benefits.
Announcements in the last week can be hailed some of the most important Logan has seen for some time.
